Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun policeman who was shot outside his home Tuesday evening arriving from work, was rushed to hospital in serious condition.The officer of the Cancun Municipal Police was shot and hit twice after completing his shift and returning home. The officer was shot at by individuals, witnesses say was on board a red car.Upon hearing the gun fire, the policeman ran for cover, but not before receiving two bullet wounds to his arm.The incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. in SM 251 of Cancun.Nearby on-duty Municipal Police arrived at the scene and met with the injured man who quickly identified himself as an fellow officer.Police did not wait for the ambulance, but instead, drove him to the General Hospital aboard a patrol unit.The elements of the Ministerial Police arrived to interview the witnesses, while criminal experts were in charge of processing the scene.The injured officer has been identified only as Lester, who was a member of the Tourist Police of the Cancun Hotel Zone as well as Municipal Officer of the city.This was the third shooting against a Cancun police officer this month.Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)
Azamara Club Cruises has announced the appointment of Carol Cabezas to Chief Operation Officer.Carol has been a part of the Royal Caribbean team for the last 17 years. During her time with the parent company she has held a variety of leadership roles across sales, finance and revenue management. Most recently, Carol served as Vice President of Investor Relations for Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD.
