Photo credit: Dominica CentralThe family of the late Attorney at Law McDonald Christopher is still trying to come to terms with his sudden loss.Christopher, popularly known as “Don” passed away at the age of 72 at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday.Shirley Christopher who has been his wife for six years said her husband had a corrective surgery last week after complaining of serious abdominal pains.“My body feels weak because I wasn’t expecting that at all. I was with him. I took care of him. I bathed him, I put clothes on him. Everything was okay and I wasn’t expecting that call. Up till this day I don’t believe it. I can’t believe it. He told me he didn’t sleep well and that his blood pressure was a little high but apart from that he was okay,” she said.Meanwhile, president of the Dominica Bar Association Wynant Adrian-Roberts recalled Christopher as one who was always “eager” to give his opinion.“He practiced at the Magistrate court, high court and the court of appeal. His practice was mostly at the civil court though he did some criminal work. He was always eager to give his opinion on matters, he was very outspoken and the profession will certainly miss him,” she said.She described his passing as a sad day for the legal fraternity of Dominica.
