Mike Gundy Says OSU Is 7-1, Wants Attorney To Fix CMU Game

first_imgA 6-2 Oklahoma State team heads to Manhattan this weekend for a tilt against a 5-3 Kansas State team. Or so the headlines read. Mike Gundy disagrees with the first part of that. He said so after OSU’s win over West Virginia on Saturday.Gundy on loss to Central Michigan: “Can somebody get that fixed? With all the attorneys in the country, can somebody please get that fixed?”— Nathan Ruiz (@NathanSRuiz) October 29, 2016And he addressed OSU’s loss to Central Michigan earlier in the year more boldly on Monday in his weekly press conference.“In my opinion, our conference should take charge and stick up for us and say, ‘You know what? We’re going to get this right,’” Gundy said according to the O’Colly of Oklahoma State’s “loss” over Central Michigan. “Or there’s gotta be some lawyer out there who’s willing to make a name for himself. He ought to be all over it for a flat fee.“If I don’t try to do what’s right for my players, I wouldn’t want to play for me,” Gundy added. “They can’t do anything. I don’t have a law degree so I can’t do anything. I got a C in political science.“It’s the best I can do, but in the end, they should just give both teams the win, and the officials or whoever’s in charge should say, ‘It’s a massive screw-up,’ and give both teams the win. I don’t think that taking it away from Central Michigan is the answer, but it’s a win-win.”I have no doubt about the C in poli-sci, but I also am not totally sure of the motivation here. I get the “my players wouldn’t want to play for me if I don’t do ’em right” thing, but isn’t this in the past? Shouldn’t we bury the thing and move on?Or does Gundy think OSU has an outside chance at the CFB Playoff if it wins out and wants that black removed from the Pokes’ record? I think no matter what the record says at this point the CFB Playoff committee (if we’re even discussing this) is going to see it the same way. That is to say, I’m not totally sure why we’re still talking about this other than to say that I’m all for it.Gundy Badger Gundy is the greatest version of Gundy, and talking about a faux loss to a MAC team from nearly two months ago is about as Gundy Badger as it gets.If you’re looking for the comments section, it has moved to our forum, The Chamber.
