Krawietz: Klopp feels same about Liverpool as BVB, Mainzby Ansser Sadiq16 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveLiverpool assistant manager Peter Krawietz believes that he and boss Jurgen Klopp found an instant connection with the club when they joined.Fans were unsure of what to expect of Klopp when he arrived, given the way his tenure at Borussia Dortmund ended. However, he managed to take the club to new heights, winning the Champions League last season. And Krawietz believes that part of the success is due to the incredible feeling that he and Klopp have for the club, which is similar to how they felt about previous clubs Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.”We always felt something like an identity with the club we were working for. In Mainz, it was our hometown where we grew up – so obviously it was easy because it was natural,” Krawietz told the Liverpool website. “We found this in Dortmund pretty quickly. And it is, and was, the same here in Liverpool. The more you learn about this city, of course adapting a little bit, and learn how people think and what they expect…of course, it helps if you have a little bit of success! “Then people can see from the outside things are going forward. This is what we always wanted. We thought the things we want to invent take a bit of time – a long-term idea – and we’d come somewhere where we’d try to make an impact for the whole club, something that stays for longer even if you are not here anymore. “Something which stays – not only trophies and a good time – and that it can go on. It worked in Mainz, it worked in Dortmund and I hope we are in a good way to do it as well in Liverpool.” About the authorAnsser SadiqShare the loveHave your say

That was arguably his best game for us this season, not just his goals but his all-round contribution, the way he led the line particularly without the ball, competing with his back to goal as well.”He was competing very well with longer balls and balls in the air. He put a real shift in for the team which is something he will be able to do as he gets fitter. I was really pleased with his contribution.”
oklahoma state phantom first downIt’s been a tough year for the the Big 12’s referees. It’s about to get worse.During Saturday’s contest between Oklahoma State and Kansas State, it appears that the Cowboys were given a phantom first down when they should have been four yards short of the line to gain. Facing a 3rd and 23 from Oklahoma State’s 42-yard line, Mason Rudolph connected with Marcell Ateman for a 19-yard gain. Fox Sports 1 showed a replay of the play, and when they panned back to the live action, OSU had somehow been given a first down.A user took video of the entire sequence. The play in question comes at around the 2:30 mark.Jake Trotter, who covers the Big 12 for ESPN, confirmed that the officials made a mistake. As he notes, Oklahoma State scored a touchdown just four plays later.Big 12 officials did in fact award Oklahoma St a phantom first down when it should’ve been fourth-and-four. OSU scored TD four plays later— Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) October 4, 2015How does this happen? We’re not sure. But with the Cowboys eking out a two-point win over the Wildcats, there are going to be lots of questions here.
The Ministry of Youth and Culture remains on target with the implementation of several of the Jamaica 50 Legacy Projects. This was disclosed by Portfolio Minister, Hon. Lisa Hanna, during her contribution to the 2013/14 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, June 18.Ms. Hanna said the projects will, among other things, promote a revolution in the mindset and cultural action that will result in visible and measurable change in how Jamaicans operate. The Minister said foremost among these projects is the transformation of the National Heroes Park into a Cultural and Economic Development Zone.“The Ministry of Transport and Works is leading this dynamic project through public-private partnership. We cannot promote our cultural prowess while devaluing the space that represents the highest level of our cultural acumen and sacrifice. And let the truth be told, the plan to develop National Heroes Circle has been in the making since 1962,” she said.Ms. Hanna said other projects which should be completed this financial year, include those in early childhood education; community animation, music and sports. The projects in early childhood education include: Middlesex Basic School in St. Elizabeth, Marlie Hill in St. Catherine, Ebenezer in St. Thomas, Rock River in Clarendon, Church of Christ in St. Mary, Bannister in St. Catherine, Little Einstein Learning Centre in Seaview Gardens, Kingston, and Straun in Manchester.Community animation projects include Rocky Point Community Centre in Clarendon. The legacy projects will be undertaken by the Legacy Committee, which is being chaired by Chief Executive Officer of the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund, Billy Heaven. In the meantime, Ms. Hanna said a national reconstruction of respect and appreciation for culture is critical to the nation’s development. She lamented that in spite of Jamaica’s vibrant culture, it is respected more abroad than right here at home.“Overseas we are seen as a Cultural super state. At home, how do we as a people see ourselves? Our culture has been used by Volkswagen, Puma and a host of international institutions and companies to redefine and promote their products. In all this, the truth is Jamaica has not benefited exponentially,” she said. She added that many young people are still ignorant of the nation’s culture, heritage “and those icons that worked so assiduously to create and uphold Brand Jamaica.”Contact: Chris Patterson

OSU redshirt sophomore QB J.T. Barrett (16) stiff arms Penn State redshirt sophomore defensive end Garrett Sickels (90) during a game at Ohio Stadium on Oct. 17. OSU won, 38-10. Credit: Samantha Hollingshead / Photo EditorOn Saturday morning, the Big Ten East’s four heavyweights (Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State) were all undefeated in conference play and a combined 22-2 on the season (those two losses were against currently undefeated teams in Utah and Temple). After a stunning victory by Michigan State and an excellent performance by OSU, the true top dogs of the division have become just a little more clear. With the season already halfway done, OSU coach Urban Meyer still seems no closer to deciding on which quarterback will take the reins to the offense than he did during the entire offseason. After OSU’s most dominant performance of the season, however, it doesn’t seem to matter. At least not yet.Despite once again falling behind early and failing to score in the first quarter, the OSU offense stepped on the gas in the second and put up 21 unanswered points against a stout Penn State defense en route to a 38-10 blowout win.Ever since Meyer began to phase J.T. Barrett into the game more last week, the redshirt sophomore quarterback has been electric, leading the Buckeye offense to 10 touchdowns and a field goal in 11 red zone appearances. Barrett finished the game completing all four of his passes for 30 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 102 yards and two more touchdowns on 11 carries on the ground.Redshirt junior Cardale Jones ended the game 9-of-15 passing for 84 yards, his lowest yardage total for the season. Meanwhile, junior running back Ezekiel Elliott, a stalwart for the Buckeye offense, pounded away 153 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. In total, OSU managed to gain 429 yards and 25 first downs against one of the top defenses in the nation.Penn State junior quarterback Christian Hackenberg, claimed by some to be the highest-rated quarterback for next year’s NFL draft, was ineffective all night long, finishing the night 7-of-13 passing for 120 yards. However, true freshman running back Saquon Barkley looked impressive for the Nittany Lions as he gashed the Buckeye defense for 194 yards on 26 carries after missing the previous two games for Penn State.Penn State will host a struggling Maryland team next week as it fights to become bowl eligible, while OSU will travel to Rutgers in search of its nation-leading 21st straight victory. By the numbers:4: OSU’s current win streak against Penn State, its longest in the history of the programs.17-13: The all-time record between Penn State and OSU, favoring the Buckeyes.1: The amount of losses OSU has suffered against Big Ten competition at night in Ohio Stadium. He currently leads the team with 433 yards and 30 receptions.108,423: The number of fans crammed inside the ‘Shoe last night, the second-largest crowd in history to watch the Buckeyes play.9: After last night, Elliott became the ninth running back in OSU history to rush for 3,000-plus career yards. He currently has 3,028 yards to his name.38: Under current coach James Franklin, Penn State prides itself on having a great defense. The 38 points put up by the Buckeyes were the most given up by Penn State in a game since 2013, when the Nittany Lions also played in Columbus and got embarrassed 63-14. 3: Since 2010, Penn State has allowed its opponents to rush for more than 300 yards in a game only three times. All three times, it was against the Buckeyes inside Ohio Stadium.
